In this quick teaser designed by the author, readers are treated to three short stories starring every teen’s favorite demigod, as well as several insider guides including interviews with key characters and a map of Camp Half Blood.  In “Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot”, Percy is forced to help his enemy, Clarisse, find her father’s stolen chariot before he finds out she has failed him.  In “Percy Jackson and the Bronze Dragon”, our heroes return to Camp Half Blood where a round of Capture the Flag becomes far more dangerous when Percy and Beckendorf are sidetracked by the Ant Hill and its myrmekes in habitants.  Finally, Percy reunites with Thalia and Nico to return a stolen sword to Hades before it can make its way to Kronos in “Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades.”  Each short story stays true to Riordan’s beloved characters.  The action is as compelling as ever, and Riordan adds additional materials to increase the appeal for fans of the series.  Especially helpful is the chart of Olympians gods and the items associated with them.  This is a definitely a fun diversion for the fan waiting for the next installment.  The stories, however, do suffer from their brevity and much of the depth fans enjoy from the series cannot be duplicated in such a short format.
